Today, I chat with Zil Goldstein, board certified family nurse practitioner and current Associate Medical Director for Transgender and Gender Non-Binary Health at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, about the basics of medical transition and hormone related services.

Meet Zil Goldstein, FNP-BC

Zil Goldstein has been practicing as a board certified nurse practitioner since 2011. Zil’s passion lays with the LGBTQI and nonbinary community, particularly working to create comprehensive transgender and nonbinary related health care. She is one of the co-founders and former programs director of the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery at Mt. Sinai in New York City. The Center offers complete services including medical, surgical, and psychiatric care. In addition, they train students, residents, and fellows to be experts in transgender and nonbinary care. In March 2019, Zil became the Associate Medical Director for Transgender and Gender Non-Binary Health at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. Callen-Lorde services the largest panel of transgender and nonbinary individuals. In addition to seeing patients and running large scale organizations, Zil has published numerous medical research including Case Report: Induced Lactation in a Transgender Woman which was featured in the New York Times.
